This is by far one of the best communities I have lived within. I am so impressed by the responsive staff and maintenance team, the extra security measures, and a laidback yet friendly community. The rent is affordable considering the area and its location to entertaining places within Chapel Hill, Raleigh, and Durham. If you’re able to get an apartment you’ll also appreciate the great aspects of Rock Creek!

Just finishing up a two year stint at Rock Creek (would have ended the lease at one, but an uncertain employment situation meant that we had to renew our lease) and couldn't be happier to leave. The neighborhood is great, not far from downtown Carrboro, and next to a very nice high school, so the area is very peaceful. The complex itself, however, has been going downhill since we arrived. Several of the more helpful and friendly workers at the office have since left, and their replacements are... rude and dismissive of maintenance problems. The appliances are very dated, the walls are thin (while the neighborhood is quiet, many neighbors are not), and bugs and parking are a problem in several places around the complex. The rent is deceptively cheap for the area given the slapdash renovations that most complexes are trying in order to appear "luxury," but the electric co-op charges through the nose. Access to the J-line is a plus, but it's just about the only one.

Rock Creek is the perfect place for people who are looking for a quieter environment. If you're an adult or professional student looking to get away from the rowdy undergrad atmosphere, or if you're a family looking for somewhere peaceful, its great.
That said, its near everything you could need. Its on the J route, so you can get to UNC campus and Franklin Street really easily. The grocery store, gas station, and Walmart are all within 5 minutes, so the necessities are near by. Downtown... Carrboro is also only about 5 minutes away by bus or car, so though its a quiet place you're right near all the fun, hangouts, and shopping.
Commuting to Duke is not terrible if you don't mind some traffic. 20-35 minutes, depending on the time of day.
Regarding the apartments themselves, they're really nice and spacious for the price. Maintenance is quick and friendly, and the office folks are nice too. Appliances are a bit dated, but once again, for the price I'm not going to complain. The clubhouse, gym, and pool area are all well maintained - plus, free printing, so you can save your ink and paper on those huge projects.
Overall, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for someplace comfortable and quiet but conveniently located.

Visited here--seemed like a nice place, well kept, buildings are a little on the older side but well maintained. Ended up going elsewhere that's closer to work, but this apartment complex is definitely worth seeing--good value for the price.
