Walk2UNC! Furnished Apt for Male Grad School/Law Student!
Great walk-everywhere location, fully furnished one bedroom apartment available starting Aug 1 2026 for minimum of one year lease ending July 30 2027 —- With the option to renew for one year increments thereafter at this below-market monthly... rent+utilites rate of $995 locked in. (Owner is UNC Alumni and committed to keeping monthly costs under $1k)
The actual move in /move out dates are flexible by a few days, however significantly shorter leases not considered —- intent is to maintain leases on the basic Aug to July academic annual calendar.
The private, separate and well-stocked apartment is located in the beautiful Chapel Hill Historic District —- you can walk and/or bike everywhere on campus from this 1932-built house. (Oh, and please note this listing will be deleted when apt is rented —- so if you’re reading this post then “Yes” the apt is available)
This one-male-person-only apt comes with one parking space (behind the house) and has a private entrance from its own private Patio. The ground level entry door opens to a living area with a well-stocked compact kitchen (frig, stove, toaster oven, microwave, rice cooker, electric tea kettle, Keurig coffee maker, utensils, cookware and dinnerware), plus living space with double-recliner, 40” smart tv, eating table/stools) attached to a full bath with oversized-shower, and a window. On the other side of living area is a separate bedroom (a Double-sized bed with summer and winter bedding, desk and desk chair, bookcase, clothes closet, iron and ironing board) plus there is a shared laundry in the back portion of the ground level for all three UNC grad student-tenants living in the three entirely separate apts.
And yes, this ground level apt has a low ceiling —- past tenants have been between 5’5” and 6’ tall.
Monthly rent of $995 does include all monthly costs/fees/utilities (wifi, electric, natural gas, city water/sewer, trash/recycling, parking etc) which is a non-weather fluctuating fixed rate bargain.
Note this campus-close apartment has been rented to male UNC grad students for 25+ years. Sorry but no smoking, no pets, no roommates/spouses, and sorry but no text contact offered (due to spammers), so please do reply by email With Details About Yourself including your UNC program, your move-in and your expected move-out time table, and your cell number —- and the property owner will reply with an email address for you to send your CV and recent photo, plus will answer all of your questions not already answered in this loooong posting! Thanks for your interest and welcome to world's greatest college town! 🐏
(Okay, by request here are a few more details: the location is on East Franklin St and directly across from Park Place, where there is a free-campus-bus stop —- and it’s especially convenient to the UNC Law School and all the central campus area. This apartment has been rented most often to male law school and PhD grad students for multi-year leases, which is how the property owner can afford to offer such an affordable monthly cost — due to the low turnover.
There are four separate apts total in the house and Owner occupies main level parttime, with grad students residing in the two apts upstairs and the one apt at ground level. There are no shared living spaces other than the laundry area, parking area and yard space. The surrounding historic district residential neighborhood is beautiful and quiet, and the successful tenant applicant will be mature, studious, amicable and quiet - at least at home - after all, both campus and town are steps away for essential socializing.
Location really is so close to campus as to not require a car —- the apartment has very often been rented to international grad students without US drivers licenses/cars. If interested, remember to please EMAIL asap with your specific details —- and please note those who do not provide the requested information and/or do not fit the listed criteria will not receive a reply — because due to the great location and the below market rental rate value, there are just too many unqualified inquiries for the property owner to reply to those who do not fit the stated criteria and/or don’t provide the requested info. However the owner will very cheerfully reply if you do provide details demonstrating your circumstances!
Thanks again for your interest, and best of luck in your apartment search in the world’s best college town!🩵🐏
