Located by our organic farm, the Barnhouse cottage, with a scenic wooded setting, is the backdrop for slower, more relaxed rural living. Leave behind the hectic, fast-paced world and take pleasure in the sounds and smells of... living in the country.Although we are only seven miles west of Chapel Hill and UNC, and five miles from downtown Carrboro, we are off the beaten track. Please know this is NOT urban living.

The cottage has been described as unique, quirky and charming with positive energy. The space is suited for an individual or couple who fit that description and more for long term rental. Tenants who are friendly and responsible; gainfully employed, trustworthy, very quiet, clean; who appreciate and respect the property and surrounding rural nature of the area. The cottage is part of our property, so we are looking for a tenant who holds similar values and respect for nature and wildlife and would be a good neighbor.

The cottage (~1000 sf) feels like living in a beach house in the woods. Upstairs has a bedroom, large open kitchen (1950s vintage sink), spacious living/dining area and large bathroom with separate tub and shower. The downstairs room is very roomy with outside entrance only (used as an office, second bedroom, exercise or hobby room). Good connectivity for internet. Central HVAC W/D on site (negotiable)

Rent: $1400/month + utilities (gas & electric) and computer needs.
